Quick IF’s - Week of October 31
Welcome to Quick IF’s! Think of these as my thought bubbles I have throughout the week. I just had a baby, so my focus is now on planning for new and young families. I understand your challenges much better now and can speak to your needs. Read these nuggets of information and book a call with me if you want to learn more.
Health Savings Account
Open up a Health Savings Account if you can. They have triple tax benefits and can save you a lot of money on your medical expenses throughout your life.

Budgeting
Budget! Budget! Budget! It is so easy to click the buy now button on Amazon to acquire stuff that you don’t need. Think further into the future. The more you put aside now, the easier your life will be later. Give your future self a reason to appreciate your past self.
Education Planning
Currently, there is about $1.75 trillion in student loan debt in America. Start a 529 as soon as you can to prevent being a part of that statistic.
Behavioral finance
When most people start taking their personal finances into consideration, they focus on the how but never the why. Why do you need a budget? Why are you saving for retirement? Why do you need life insurance? Why do you need to work with a financial planner? These may seem like obvious questions, but I rarely meet a client who have given these questions the respect they deserve.
Budgeting
Pay yourself first! When starting a budget, you have to have savings included. Savings for goals, emergency fund, expenses, etc. My favorite way to create these savings is when you get your paycheck you pay taxes, insurance, and yourself. Yourself is your savings that you can’t touch until its designated reason comes due. Learn how to live without that money and you’ve inadvertently created a budget for yourself.
Email me if you have any topics you want me to cover in the Quick IF of the week. Enjoy!
